A civilization can become brilliant at simulation while starving for courage. The church must not answer that hunger with another simulation. It must answer with lives that belong to Christ.

    The church does not answer technological overreach by pretending history can be escaped. It answers by showing that the highest goods were never reducible to control in the first place.
